After the parade, we all went back to my parents house to swim.
And swim we did.
I don't think the kids got out of that Spool until we forced them out by closing the cover.
And then Tessa walked on the cover in protest.
Bad girl.
But my dad did teach her how to use the squirt thing- she was in heaven.
My Grandpa Rose was there.
So was Grandma, but of course she was helping in the kitchen.
She's the best.
Tessa was pretty much the president of the Spool- she didn't actually get in much, but she liked being in charge.
This was the beginning of Eve's obsession with ice cream cones.
Jordan and Lacey came. They are the coolest couple I know. And gorgeous. And hip-to-dip.
And then Jordan gave Brock the scoop on The Bachelorette since he and Awkward Jeff used to be roommates. Told you they are cool.
Best Mamash ever.
Tessa loves Tay- Kate is crazy.
Calvin is adorable and the clone of Garrett when he was this age. Love him.
Katie and Dan came. Dan was late because he rode his bike all the way from Laramie, WY or something crazy like that. (Not really, but he is training for an ironman so it was super far bike rid/swim/run.)
Brooke and G- Brooke is the smallest 9 month pregnant chick ever.
And Tessa took her newly learned skill and turned on her master.
Over and over and over.
And then we watched the fireworks from my parents deck.
Annie was underwhelmed and continued commenting that the fireworks would be more impressive if all those trees weren't there. I guess going from getting ash in your eye to the distant deck was tough for her to come to grips with.
Kate was more content and took random pictures with my phone.
Eve was asleep and I just hoped the fireworks were not loud enough to wake her up.
And Tessa was a little afraid of it all until the last firework faded away and in that moment of silent yelled, "OPA!"
I know her Yia Yia was smiling down on her.
Such a fun day. Happy Fourth. We need a Spool.
